Outpatient departments of Al Burooj Medical Centre is shifted to sector 4 Orangi town from Ist July 2010. Maternity and other indoor services would be provided as usual at sector 5 orangi town.

During the month of April 2010 medicines worth Rs 19000 were given to patients from the hospital dispensary and medicines worth Rs 7000 were provided to needy ones from medical store. Thirty normal deliveries were held during this month and one baby was referred to a tertiary hospital for intensive treatment.

During the months of February and March 2010, medicines worth rupees forty thousand were given to needy ones.

During the month of January2010 we have asked thirty  admitted patients about the quality of services provided to them during their stay in the hospital.All of them said that they are  fully satisfied with the treatment given to them during their stay in  the hospital.

Free medicines worth Rs 37000/ were provided to patients during the month of January 2010.

Free  bone mass density test was performed on 30 patients on 28th January2010. New osteoporotic cases were identified and given treatment.

Free medicines worth  Rs 30,000/ were given in the month of December 2009 to those patients who came as outpatient at al Burooj.

Scores of poor patients get free medicines from medical store and people are happy at this service.

A premature baby was born on 20th December 2009 and was given treatment in the incubator , He was stable and his vitals became ok.

A 8 month old child inhaled the cereals and was having suffocation. He was resuscitated and became ok after few mins of emergency treatment.

A free medical camp was held on 19th October 2009 to check complete blood picture of adult patients. 50 patients were screened and treatment was given to those  suffering from anemia.

In the month of July 2009,one thousand seven hundred patients came for out patient treatment. Sixteen normal deliveries were conducted, babies and mothers were in good health.Twelve C.section were done by the gynecologist. Ten minor operations were performed all patients recovered. One thousand patients were given free nebulisation for their asthmatic attacks.Scores of patients were given free medicines from the medical store.One patient who has a gynecological problem was successfuly operated and she recovers from the ailment.

An old man came with a low hemoglobin concentration and with blood cancer, he was referred to the oncologist who advised blood transfusion to him. He was admitted for transfusion and one pint of whole blood was transfused free of cost on 5th June 2009.

In the month April 2009

During the month of April 2009, 16 normal deliveries were held , nine c. section were performed by the gynecologist , 30 patients were admitted in the emergency ward and treated for various ailments, seven Ekg were done for cardiac patients, scores of patients were given free nebulization for their asthma, 50 babies were vaccinated for various infectious diseases,1200 patients were treated in the outpatients.Free medicines were given to needy and poor patients.All the patients recovered  except two patients who were referred to other hospitals for more specialised treatment and they  recovered too.

Free blood sugar testing was arranged, forty patients availed this facility and new cases were diagnosed.

A free complete blood picture testing was arranged through the kind cooperation of MERK, 100 patients were being tested free of cost.

On 16th February 2009 a new born baby who was having respiratory distress was treated in the nursery,  incubator care was given to her and she became ok after one day of treatment.

On 12th February 2009, two newborn babies were admitted in the nursery. They were treated in the incubators and became stable after two days and handed over to mothers.

On 10th December 2008, a lady came with severe contractions of uterus, she had a fetal distress, so emergency c. section was arranged.A baby 3.6 kg weight was delivered and both mother and child are in good health.

In the month of October 2008, we have alhamdulillah given Medicines  worth  Rs 4000 to needy patients  from the medical store. A lady who is suffering from Hepatitis C was given  Rs 5000/ for the antiviral injection. Rs 5000 was given to old poor ones and for children of a poor widow.
One young girl was financed for her skin ailment. Besides that Nine hundred people were being  examined in the month of October and treatment were given to them from the dispensary at the cost of Rs 20/.( this includes medical examination and treatment)   Free nebulization were given to all the asthmatic patients this month.

In the month of Ramadan (september 2008) Zakat worth  60,000 Rupees was distributed among the poor and needy ones. Dengue test is being done free of cost for those in need. We still give free  nebulization to all asthmatic children and adults when they come for asthma treatment. Free medicines is being provided for poor patients  who cannot afford expensive medicines for their ailments.

In the month of July 2008, 14 c.section were done  and 20 normal deliveries were held.Newborn babies were examined by the pediatrician free of cost and they were given vaccination. In the out patient 1000 patients were treated at nominal cost. Free medicines were provided to the needy ones from the medical store. Free nebulizations were given to the non affording asthmatic patients.A young girl was financed for her skin treatment and free medicines were given to her.

On 2nd July 2008, a pregnant lady came at 10.45 am and gave birth to a 4 kg baby girl  at 11 am. Mother and baby are in good health.

A man was admitted for his right inguinal hernia and was operated by the Surgeon at 3 pm , 2nd July 2008.

On 3rd november a newborn baby came in the nursery with distress and infection.his weight was 2.3kg and he was kept for one day under observation and was discharged after his condition became normal.

On 30th october a baby was born through c.section, his weight was 1.7 kg and he was kept in the incubator, he was given intensive treatment for a week and gained 100 grams of weight .He was released from the incubator after his vitals became normal.

We give free medicines to those  who are non affording. In the month of Ramadan, at Al- Burooj Medical center a poor lady c.section was done at very nominal cost and we didnt charge her for the nursing care of her baby in the incubator. Baby became ok and they were  really happy at the free services rendered to them at this center. 

During the month of Ramadan zakat worth Rs forty thousand was distributed among the poor widows, orphans and older handicapped people.

In the Month of september 2007, 3000 patients visited Al-Burooj Mrdical Center. 20 normal deliveries were held, 2 babies were admitted and given intensive treatment in the nursery.One patient was referred to the cardiac hospital after giving first aid.

On 20th August 2007, a baby girl was born through c.section, she was having congenital heart disease and after given resuscitation was referred to the cardiac hospital.She is improving and in good shape.

On 19th August 2007 a baby was severely dehydrated and was given intensive care and she was well and  gave a smile to the mother after 6 hours of treatment in the ward.

On 18th  August 2007 two children came with severe gastroenteritis and they were rehydrated with Intravenous drips and were well stable after 8 hours of treatment and care.

On 3rd August 2007, two babies were delivered through c.section. Both of them were having respiratory distress. One baby was 2.2 kg and the other one 1.8 kg. both were put in the incubators and are ok.

At Al-Burooj Medical Center. twenty five people are working round O clock rendering different services at very nominal cost to the people of that area. We have services of orthopedic surgeon, ENT   Surgeon and Gynecologist. General Surgeon looks after surgical cases he is examining patients weekly and he is also on call for emergencies. Pediatrician is looking after newborn babies and children.

On 25th July 2007, a newborn baby was referred from a nearby hospital with acute distress and respiratory problems, he was immediately resuscitated in the nursery and became stable after two hours of  treatment.

On 24th July 2007 a baby was born through lower segment C. secton. the cause of operation was tranverse lie. Baby,s right hand was blueand all other vitals were normal. He was put in the Nursery for two days and his condition has been improved.The baby was released from Nursery on 26th July.

In the Month of July 2007, we have offered a very nominal package for normal deliveries,which include free vaccination of babies, free check up of neonates by the child specialist, free medicines used in delivery, free circumcision of male babies.

In the month of June 2007,  3000 patients visited Al-Burooj Medical Center , 14 normal deliveries and 10 C.section were performed by the gynecologist.Mothers and Babies were in perfect health.

A three month old baby came with severe dehydration and she was given intravenous infusion and she is ok.

On 28th June 2007, a baby was born with respiratory distress and cyanosis, she was put in the nursery and is stable now.

 In the month of June 2007, most of the patients came with diarrhea and Dehydration,prompt treatment was given to them and all recovered except the one who was referred to a nearby public hospital for more intensive care.

 

A young girl 13 years old came on 25th May 2007 with severe attack of asthma and was immediately given nebulization and  injections of antiasthma medicines. she was asthma free after three hours and went home with a smile on her face.

 

Two C.sections and one normal delivery was conducted by the gynecologist. Mother and babies are in good health. One baby was kept in the nursery for observation and was stable after 6 hours and put out of nursery on 25th May 2007.

 

A ten year old boy was admitted with severe dehydration on 23rd May 2007.He was given intravenous fluid and discharged after complete recovery from the ward on 24th May 2007.

 

Twenty cases of gastroenteritis were admitted on 21st May  in the ward and were given Intravenous rehydration therapy. All get well after the treatment.

 

 A lady about 65 years old came with gastroenteritis  on 21st May 2007  with non recordable blood pressure and pulse. she was rehydrated with intravenous fluid and given resuscitative measures and  became ok after 8 hours.

 

In the month of April 2007, more than 3000 patients visited Al-Burooj Medical Center for various ailments. In the Asthma clinic 400 people came for nebulization and treatment. Ten C.Sections were done by the gynecologist and Eight Normal deliveries were held. Twin babies were kept in the incubators and they were released after gaining weight.One baby was referred from a nearby hospital having severe infection, she was given intensive care. One patient who was suffering from glaucoma was referred to the eye specialist, he will be operated soon for his problem and his eye would be saved from complete blindness. In this month one of the well wisher donated a cooling machine. now the patients would get  filtered water.

 

A Baby boy was delivered through C. section on 2nd May 2007, his weight is 4.8 kilogram and he is in perfect shape.

 

On Ist May 2007, twins delivered through C.section. Both the babies and mother are in good health.

 

We take feed back from all patients who are admitted in the ward. Patients are happy at the services rendered to them at Al-Burooj Medical Center.

 

 Twins born normally on 13th April2007.One baby girl is normal. The other having respiratory distress and asphyxia was put under intensive care and he is improving.

 

In the Month of March2007, 3000 patients visited Al- Burooj Medical Center.300 patients were given free treatment in asthma clinic. 12 normal deliveries were held.

3 C.Section were performed by the gynecologist. 30 patients were admitted in the pediatric ward. Ten newborn babies were kept in the nursery and put in the incubators for intensive care. All the babies   recovered fully Three surgical operations were performed by the surgeon. We have appointed skilled staff for day and night shifts for the nursery and one experienced staff was appointed to head the medical section.  

 

On 15h February2007, a child  2 years old came with breathlessness and respiratory distress, he was given nebulization and oxygen. His x-ray was done and  was given intensive treatment, after few minutes he coughed out  a small beetle nut becomes ok and his respiration becomes normal.
 

In the month of January 3000 patients visited Al- Burooj Medical Center.377 consultation done by various consultants. 17 Normal deliveries were conducted by the gynecologist and mothers and babies were in perfect health. 8 C-Section were performed. 2 Surgical operations were done. 8 minor gynecological operations were conducted by the gynecolgist.5 babies were given intensive care in the Nursery.57 patients were given emergency treatment and were retained in the hospital for few days.19 EKG were done. 845 patients came to the evening and night doctors for emergency outpatients treatment. Free Nebulization was given to 250 patients free of cost. Scores of patients who were non affording were given free treatment including x-rays and laboratory tests.

On 2nd February 2007, a baby with birth weight 2.3 kg came with respiratory distress and pneumonia, she was given oxygen and nebulization and after an hour of intense treatment she became stable. She is progressing.
 

A girl 10 years old came with chronic tonsillitis and she would be operated for her enlarged tonsils by ENT surgeon on Monday 5th February2007

On 26th January 2007, two C-section done, one baby was in precarious condition was given treatment in the nursery and then transferred to a nearby hospital for more intensive care.

On 20th January two normal deliveries were held and one C-section done. Two babies were admitted for various ailments and they are improving.

18th January 2007

C. Section was done by the gynecologist. Mother and baby are in good health.

A 60 year old lady came with severe asthma, she was given free nebulization and with the treatment given, her condition became stable.

Free Clinic for over weight people were held on 16th January 2007. Lot of people came for free check up.

On 13th January 2007, a baby came from a Govt hospital and was admitted to the nursery. Weight of the baby is 1.3 kg and intensive care is being given to her.

A girl age 15 years was admitted for dehydration and vomiting on 12th January2007 and has been rehydrated with intravenous fluids. She is feeling well and her vomiting is under control.

In the month of December 2006, 4500 patients visited Al- Burooj Medical center.
 

20 Normal deliveries took place and six C. Section were performed by the gynecologist.
Four new born babies were kept in the incubator and were given treatment there. All the babies gained weight and recovered. Free treatment was given to the asthmatic patients and were given free nebulization. This facility is available 24 hours. Two doctors were appointed for night shifts round O clock. They are trained in pediatrics and are doing their job well with dedication and devotion.

On 16th December a 18 year old girl was operated by ENT Surgeon for her enlarged tonsils. She is progressing well and was released from hospital on 17th December 2006.

Free Asthma clinic was held on 11th December 2006. Scores of people benefited from this free camp.

Free obesity clinic was held on 13th December 2006 Lot of people visited this camp and was given free literature on adequate diet and balanced nutrition

Two Newborn babies with respiratory distress and having grunting were kept in the nursery for intensive care and are doing well.

A lady having acute pain in the abdomen was seen by the surgeon on 13th December and was kept under observation. she was pain free and was discharged from hospital the other day. The pain was due to urinary tract infection.

In the maternity ward 14 normal deliveries were held and three C Sections were done( from 1st December 2006 to 16th December 2006). Mothers and babies are in good health.

 

In the month of November 2006, 5000 patients visited Al- Burooj Medical Center. Scores of patients came for Nebulization for their asthma. New born babies were given immunization, those babies who got jaundice were given phototherapy.12 normal deliveries were held and eight C-section were done.

24th November2006

Dengue fever tests done free of cost on three patients who were having high grade fever. The test was negative. A normal delivery was conducted by the gynecologist and baby and mother are in perfect health. A . C. Section done, baby is fine and mother is improving.


21st November 2006

A lady was operated for her tonsils today by ENT Surgeon. she regained consciousness and feeling fine.

On 15th November 2006 one normal delivery was held , baby, s weight is 3.7 kg and she is in good health. Mother is also doing fine. A complicated C-section was done baby boy is just 2.1 kg he was resuscitated and put in the incubator for few hours and his condition is stable. Mother is in good health.


On 14th November 2006 C. section was done by the gynecologist at 12 midnight both mother and baby girl are in good health.



We are going to have free testing for suspected Dengue fever soon. All tests would be free of cost for the needy and poor patients.



7th November 2006

A male child age one year and four months came at 12.30 pm in a precarious condition with gasping respiration and no heart sounds. He was immediately being given cardiac massage and given oxygen and applied suction, after few minutes he started to take breaths and his heart sounds became normal. He regained consciousness after 30 mins and was rushed to a nearby hospital for more intensive care.He became fully alert same day in the evenning and all his vital signs became ok .The patient parents brought a box of sweets next day and were really very happy

On 4th November 2006 two normal deliveries were conducted by the gynecologist late night . Mother and babies are in perfect health.



In the month of October 2006, 5000 patients visited Al- Burooj Medical center.14 normal Deliveries were held Both Mother and babies were ok. 7 C-section were done and the operations were successful. We have added a latest sonogram machine and cardiac monitor in the operation theatre donated by Dr Anjum Sabir. Orthopedic and general surgeon are looking after those patients need orthopedic care. One complicated surgery was held and it was successful. A lady who accidentally have a broken needle in her hand (while sewing) was successfully removed. All these procedures were done at very nominal cost. 400 patients visited laboratory and X-ray department . In the medical store quality medicines were given at reduced prices.15 patients were given free medicines for various diseases from the medical store. In the month of Ramadan Zakat worth Rs 30,000 was distributed to needy widows and old people. Free clothing's were given to the younger ones. In the asthma clinic we have three nebulization machines where free treatment are being given to asthmatic patients.



September 2006

4000 patients visited al burooj medical center. 150 patients were admitted mostly adults having flu and high grade temperature and low blood pressure. In the maternity section scores of normal deliveries took place and C-section was done for complicated deliveries Babies were given immediate care and all are ok.200 cases came for various tests in the laboratory and x-ray department.In the asthma clinic 300 cases came for nebulization. we are currently have three nebulization machines in the asthma clinic. Emergency first aid treatment was given to those in need. Orthopedic and ENT surgeons along with general surgeon are looking after their patients quite well and with utmost care. It was a real good month f as far as patient care is concerned. we didn't have any neonatal or maternal mortality at Al- burooj Medical center in the month of September 2006.





20 patients having high temperature and low blood pressure with dehydration were given Intravenous infusions on 28th and 29th september 2006. All of them recovered and feeling better.

Orthopedic Surgeon started examining patients from 19th September 2006 He saw number of patients suffering from bone diseases and arthritis.

A baby girl 2 years old came with high temperature and fits. she was immediately given treatment and her fits were controlled. she came again on 20th september and now she is ok.



20 patients came on 20th september for their asthma problem and were given nebulization free of cost.





17th September

The girl suffering from appendicitis was operated successfully and her appendix removed and she is pain free and recovering.



A lady having complications in her pregnancy was operated through C. Section on 6th september .Boy was delivered and 10 Pints of blood was given to her to save her life.she has been recovered and her baby is ok.



A girl 14 years came for pain in her right lower abdomen on 16th september 2006. Surgeon examined her and diagnosed appendicitis. she is going to be operated early morning 17th septmber.


In the month of August 2006, 3000 patients visited Al-Burooj Medical Centre,15 C-Section were performed and 18 normal deliveries were held.2 Major Surgeries were held. 200 patients came for nebulization for Asthma.20 EKG were done .20 patients were given intravenous rehydration for dehydration.200 laboratory tests an 15 X-rays were done.Newborn babies were given vaccination and health education were given to the mothers. It was observed that malnourishment is more common in those children given top feed instead of breast feeding and weaning diet is not started at the proper time.

One of the leading orthopedic surgeon would render his services at very nominal consultation fee from 11th September 2006





On 29th August one of the leading orthopedic Surgeon of Government hospital Orangi Town Visited Al Burooj Medical Center and offered his services for the people of that area.He was accompanied by a Physiotherapist who runs a Trauma center and he also offered his cooperation in helping those in need.





A new born baby was born on 27th August 2006. The weight of the baby is 4.2 kg and she was born normally.Both Mother and child are in good health.



A lady came on 21st August 2006 with no fetal movements and with bradycardia. In just one hour c.section was arranged and a healthy baby 3.5 Kg was born. she was resusicated and in good shape. Mother is also fine.



Two cases were operated By the Surgeon on 20th August, one child was having rectal polyp which was excised and another one was having scrotal abscess and torsion of the testis. Both patients are recovering.

A boy 8 years old came in the last week of July 2006 with puffiness of face and urinary problems was diagnosed to be suffering from nephrotic syndrome. His urine containing albumin and his blood report confirmed that diagnosis. He was put under appropriate medicines he returned on 10th August with urine becoming normal and his face returning to normal. He was advised to take the medicines regularly.

On 9th august at 5 am a baby girl was born with lethargy and irritability. She was put under intensive care her blood sugar was tested which was 30 mg/dl. she was being given Intravenous Dextrose and oral glucose solution. she became normal in 10 mints, she was looked after for another three hours and was discharged after her blood sugar became normal. Baby is ok and her activities are normal.

A lady came for pain abdomen and mass in her right ovarian site she was operated on 6th Aug 2006 and she is improving. A baby 2 days old having jaundice was given phototherapy and she is now doing well.


In the month of July 2006, 2500 patients visited Al-Burooj Medical Center.300 patients came in the asthma clinic.Free Nebulization were given to those in need.25 normal deliveries were held and 10 C-Section were done. Both the mother and babies were doing fine. Scores of babies were given phototherapy for physiological jaundice in the Nursery.10 patients were referred to cardiac hospital after early diagnosis of their heart ailment through EKG. Immunization against polio and DPT and Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B was provided to the newborn babies.10 cases of infective hepatitis( Jaundice) were identified and treated accordingly and all of them recovered.300 patients came for different laboratory tests. Mothers are informed about the current weight of their babies and they are keep informed about the pattern of growth and if the weight of the baby is less for her age then mother is told about that and information is given for adequate diet for normal growth.



A man came on 25th July with high grade fever and shivering, he was suffering from Malaria and was put on anti malarial medicine. He responded well and his temperature is normal.



A lady came for feeling uneasiness and sweating on 22nd July. Ekg was taken immediately and after giving initial treatment she was swiftly shifted to cardiac hospital where she was admitted and now improving.



On 21st July 2006, two babies were put in the incubators for their problems and they responding well.one baby is 2 Kg and is having Jaundice for which phototherapy was given





In the month of June 2006, 3000 patients visited AlBurooj Medical Centre.12 Normal deliveries were held and eight C-section were done.150 patients were given nebulization in asthma clinic and 20 EKG were done and those who suffered from heart ailments were referred to the cardiac hospital.Scores of patients came to the laboratory.100 patients were given free treatment and their laboratory tests were performed without any cost. In the antenatal clinic 20 patients were booked for their problems.




A child 10 years old having right inguinal hernia was admitted at Al Burooj Medical Center and was operated on 3rd July 2006.He is doing well and his condition is stable.



A lady came with drowsiness and disorientation, she was diabetic and was taking oral medicines for diabetes, her blood sugar was tested and it was very low just 50 mg /dl . She was given intravenous dextrose water and she regained her senses in just 10 mins and was discharged after an hour of observation. she was asked for follow-up treatment and to look an eye on her blood sugar level.



Two newborn babies came on 3rd July 2006 with physiological jaundice. they were given phototherapy and their jaundice have reduced remarkably.





We are going to start an under five clinic for babies from Birth to Five years of age in which health education would be given to the mothers about child health, breast feeding and weaning diet for the babies. This will help the mother to properly look for the weight and growth and nutritional status of their children.Growth Charts would be maintained and immunization would be given to the babies.

Mothers would also be taught about oral rehdration therapy. A staff Nurse trained in the underfive clinic would look after the clinic with the help of a peadiatrician.

June 2006

A premature baby 29 weeks with weight 1kg was admitted in the Nursery, he was put in the incubator, he gained 900 grams of weight and put off the incubator and on mother,s insistance was sent home. he came back after a month( on 10th June 2006) with loss of weight and infections with weight 1.2 grams. He was again given intensive care in the incubator and the infant has gained 500 grams and the baby is improving and his clinical condition is much better.

June 2006

On 10th June 2006, a female patient age 30 years was admitted for pain in her right side of abdomen, she was having gall stones. She was operated and her gall bladder removed. she was having multiple gall stones. she recovered from her problems and on 13th June she was discharged from the Hospital. Dr Rizwan performed the surgery. He was happy at the quick recovery and best post operative care given to the patient at Al- Burooj Medical center.

May 2006

In the month of May 2006, 4000 patients visited al-Burooj Medical Center. Scores of C-section and normal deliveries were held The Mothers and newborn babies were ok.
